Walks

I know I live in Wisconsin. And I know that winter comes every year. I'm not an idiot. However, I'm ready for spring. Well, that's a lie. I'm ready for fall. That is my favorite season and if could be like that all the time I would be a very happy girl.

After those -50° days we had only a couple of weeks back, I was ready right then and there for spring. I'm sick of driving in snow. Not because it's a bitch, which it can be, but because I'm tired of worrying about the people driving around me. They make no damn sense. It will be near blizzard conditions and people are flying around at 80mph. Then you have days like today where it was snowing, but it wasn't much at all. The interstate roads were clear and yet time and time again I got stuck behind someone doing fifteen below the speed limit. What. The. Fuck.

Aside from not having to bundle up each time I walk out the door and being able to drive without worrying about fishtailing, I miss walking with Master and the mutt.

Last summer and fall we took walks to get some exercise and fresh air. The dog had a lot of fun too. Master was doing most of the walking because I work during the day. So He would take the mutt for longer walks to kill time and to have fun with the mutt.

But when it was the weekend I would go with them. They weren't extremely long walks, but they were a good sized walk. The pup would get so excited because we would both be with him. We also ran a couple of close errands that way too.

Rather than hopping in the car we would walk down to the store with the dog. Master would stand outside with him while I went in and grabbed whatever it was we wanted to grab. There were several times where we took the walk rather late at night because it was much cooler and because we're night owls anyway.

So, I look forward to spring so we get stop bundling up and so we can start taking walks together again.

Battery Issues

Well it's currently -45° out. I took the dog out and he did his business so fast I think he broke some kind of record. After I got him back inside I went out to try and start my car and she didn't want to do it. She tried and then made this "da da da da" noise. I tried again about 20 minutes later and same result. I tried one last time right before 8am and same mother fucking result. I don't know why I thought it would be any different. Fuck!! The cold had sucked out all the power in the battery. So I call my job and told them. I had to call HR of all people because apparently I had the wrong number for my supervisor. She doesn't like me, at all. She actually sounded somewhat understanding. Does that mean I won't get in trouble for not coming into work and being out of time? No. She's a cunt. It's also company policy not to go over your time without disciplinary action. Now, keeping that in mind, it is up to HR as to whether or not it's warranted. Such as if there is an emergency they won't go through with the disciplinary action. Does a dead battery count? No idea. And like I said, she's a cunt. Hopefully she is wasn't being a two faced bitch on the phone and it's actually true that she understands. I did tell her that I literally have no other way to work. I really don't. I'm not making that shit up. Either way I'll now have to work Saturday to make up the time.

After I got off the phone with her I called the place I got my battery from last time. I honestly thought I had bought it last year. They looked up my receipt in their system and nope. I bought it two years ago and therefore the warranty has expired.

So I asked them how much their batteries are. They told me. Batteries are never cheap. I then asked if they could install it. They said that yes they do free installation but they don't think they can do it today due to the cold. It will take at least 35 minutes to put it in and they don't want to give their employees frostbite since no one is supposed to be outside for more than 5 minutes. I completely understand that. After all they don't have a garage. They are an auto parts store that does free installation. But the guy said when the manager gets in he'll ask. The manager doesn't get there until 1pm. So I told them I would call back at that time.

This fucking blows! I'll have to figure something out so I can at least get to work tomorrow. And it's supposed to be just as cold tomorrow until around noon or so. Even if I do some how, some way, get the battery replaced today it's not going to make a fuck ton of sense to go in today. It's supposed to be even colder by the time I would normally get out of work. I don't need to be stranded out there thank you very much.

My brother just sent me a text saying his girlfriend had tried to go to work and the car started up fine but she is now stranded because her car sputtered out about a half hour away from her job due to the cold. I don't like the girl but I felt bad for my brother. I told him not to risk himself and have her just call an emergency number or for him to give her a non-emergency number, such as the local police station, and go from there.

I'll probably edit this post through out the day and do updates once I find out more, just so I can vent a bit.

Fuck You Too Winter

I try not to do a lot of work posts and I know I did one the last time I posted. This is a combination of a work and weather post.

While at work yesterday people were talking about how cold it's going to be Monday and Tuesday. I didn't really pay a lot of attention to it. I mean, we're in Wisconsin. It gets pretty cold in the winter. Plus people at work complain when it's in the 30's outside. It's not like I enjoy it but still, if you live here you have to expect such things, ya know? Lately it has been below zero. The lowest it has been is -18°. However, when the chatter about the weather for Monday and Tuesday continued and seemed to sound concerned rather than just complaining I thought it would be a good idea to look into it. Master and I don't have cable or satellite so obviously we don't watch the weather channel. Instead I rely on weather.com.

It's an acceptable thing to look at while at work so when I had about 15 minutes left in my shift I went there and took a peek. My jaw dropped. It's supposed to be a minimum of  -40° to -55° starting really late Sunday night and going through Tuesday at noon. They are saying that it will cause frostbite in a very short period of time and can be life threatening.

I know it's Wisconsin but holy fucking shit! They are saying it's been about a 18 years since this last happened. Well 18 years ago I was 12 and therefore did not have a job. So I didn't have to really worry about it. I just stayed inside.

The surrounding counties have already stated that schools will be closed Monday. They haven't decided about Tuesday yet, and the governor has stated that they may close all of the schools in Wisconsin. That is fucking insane.

On the way home from work yesterday I told the passenger in my carpool about it. He honestly looked at me and said, "You're lying." I said, "No I'm not. You can look it up."

He seriously thought I was kidding. When he realized that I was being completely serious he started talking about how our office should shut down too because seriously, you could get frostbite just trying to go to work in the morning or even get hypothermia, which weather.com has said as well. I agreed when him. He said it would be absolute utter bullshit if the office did decide to be open.

The problem is we have a phone number to call to see if the office is still open. It is an automated message. And when we had a blizzard a couple years ago where we literally could not get out of the door of our apartment I called that number a dozen times while somewhat freaking out because like I said my job is a bastard when it comes to getting to work on time let alone getting there at all.

I alternated between trying to get a hold of HR or my supervisor explaining that I couldn't even get out the door. No one was answering. And so I continued to call the number to see if the office was even open. Finally, at 9am they had changed the automated message stating that the office was closed due to "winter weather conditions". But until then I was freaking out because I didn't want to lose my job.

Yes, it's different not being able to get out your door and it being so cold people are stating that if you are outside for more than 10 minutes you can get frostbite and/or hypothermia.

It takes me longer than 15 minutes to get my car cleared off and warmed up enough to leave for work. Not really warm, just warm enough to start going to work. Not to mention taking the dog out first. So add another 10 to 15 minutes there. Now you're talking a full 30 minutes of being outside in that shit. Also, my car might not even start if it's that fucking cold. We don't have a garage. The car is just in an open parking lot.

It's also a 45 minute drive to work. So if by some miracle my car does start up and I haven't frozen to death by that point the car could choke out at any point on the way to work due to the cold and then I'm stuck in my car with no heat until I can get help of some kind. (Such as a cop car or an ambulance.)

This isn't me being a pussy about the cold. These are facts. They have even made it so city workers aren't going to be outside. No mail. No garbage pick up service. Nothing.

On the one hand if the office for some fucking reason decides that they will still be open I don't want to lose my job or get written up for not coming in. On the other hand I don't want to end up in the hospital with frostbite or hypothermia. There isn't a lot to me people! I'm petite and don't really have a lot of meat on my bones.

I won't really be able to make a decision or find out if the office is open until Monday morning.

Master has always told me that my health comes first, so we'll see what happens and how it goes.

I'm not going to freak out about it until we get there. There isn't any point in doing so. I want to enjoy my weekend after all.

Winter Has Arrived

Yesterday they were saying we were supposed to get 5 to 8 inches of snow and that it was supposed to start around 5pm. As a result I was sitting there at work just hoping that it would wait until I got home from work. And when I left work it wasn't snowing so I was very happy. I made a quick stop on my way home to pick up a few things to make sure we didn't have to go drive in it.

Last night I would periodically look outside to see how bad it was. No snow. Not even a dusting. It was almost 3:30am by the time I fell asleep on the couch and it hadn't started yet. So I figured it was going to be as bad as they said it was going to be. It's supposed to be lake effect snow and we live about a half mile off the lake so I figured we would get hit pretty hard. But since it hadn't started yet I figured it wasn't going to be that bad.

Then I get up this morning to take the dog out and sure as fuck it's snowing. There wasn't a lot on the ground yet but the snow was coming down pretty hard and steady so I'm guessing that by tonight we should have about 5 inches of snow.

I'm just glad we don't have to go anywhere today. We shouldn't have to leave the apartment at all except for when the dog has to go outside to do his business.

So far we haven't had our typical severe winter storms. But it's still pretty early in the winter season. Hell, a few years back we had a blizzard that we didn't really think was going to be as bad as it was and then boom... we couldn't even get out the door of the apartment. So who knows. Our winters can be rather unpredictable at times.

First Snow

It's not even Thanksgiving and we already had snow today. Granted it only stuck to cars and grass. It melted as soon as it hit the pavement. That's a good thing though because I somehow doubt the city has their salt trucks totally ready to go yet. Because they are fucking lazy idiots.

However, that did not change the fact that I had to wipe off my car. Well, let me correct that. It looked like I would just have to brush off the snow. But as I got closer to the car I realized that nope. I would need to scrape it. Fuck. Thankfully I keep the snow brushes in the car all year round. That may sound stupid but the last thing you want to do in the winters around here is to forget to put your snow brush back in the car when winter hits. I heard quite a few of my coworkers complaining that they hadn't put theirs in their car yet. See! Just keep it in the damn car and you don't have to worry about that shit. I always keep the snow brushes in the car as well as container of antifreeze.

But now I have to buy two twenty pound bags of kitty litter. No, we don't have a cat. I'm going to put one on each side of my truck, right by the tire wells. It'll add some weight to the car while driving in snow and slush. And our car is extremely light. I honestly didn't do it last year. Because I'm a damn moron. As a result she fishtailed quite a bit during the bad snow storms. Also, the kitty litter comes in handy if you get stuck. If you can't maneuver yourself out of it you can just use a small shovel to get the snow away from your tires and then use some of the kitty litter to put around each tire to help get some traction.

Speaking of which I have to double check whether or not I still have the small shovel in the car from last year. I can't for the life of me remember if it's in there. That's kind of funny since it would be in the trunk and I am constantly opening and closing it. But when you get use to seeing something in your trunk all year you tend to forget it's even in there. It may have broke last year during that really nasty snow storm where I could just barely get the car out of the parking spot. And even then it took me a half hour just to do that. That was fun.

So, checklist...
  • Two snow brushes. A smaller one and a longer one. Also it helps in case you have two people doing it at the same time. It makes it easier and quicker. - √
  • Two twenty pound bags of kitty litter to toss in the trunk. - Still needed.
  • A small shovel to use to dig the car out if necessary. - Unsure
Yeah. I need to get that little "Wisconsin Snow Kit" together. I'll probably get everything together this weekend. It's not supposed to snow the rest of the week. And even if it did it wouldn't be severe enough to warrant the "Wisconsin Snow Kit". I honestly feel like an idiot for not getting it all together last year. I had two out of the three and of course I didn't take care of the one that will add weight to the back of the car.

It's not like it snowing this early is shocking. Hell, it's snowed much earlier than this. I was just a little surprised by it because we haven't even had that much frost. There have only been a few occasions where I had to scrape frost off my windshield first thing in the morning before going to work.

So yeah, I had to scrape off all of the windows on the car. I had to brush off snow from my headlights and brake lights. I also had to force my car door open. One of these days I'm going to fall right on my ass while doing that. I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet, after all these years, honestly. And then of course while in the car the front windows didn't want to roll down until about thirty-five minutes into the forty-five minute drive home.

Oh well. I'll be better prepared next time.

Crunching Leaves

It is starting to feel like Fall outside. I know that Fall doesn't technically start for a little while yet, but the changes are starting.

It's cooler in the mornings on my way to work. There are more turning leaves, some of which are starting to fall from the trees. The day's heat isn't going past 65°. I absolutely love it. It's my favorite time of year. It's not too hot out and there isn't snow on the ground. It's that perfect time of year. I hope it lasts longer than usual. I hope we actually get to fully experience Fall this year rather than just a month of it before the snow starts.

When this time of year hits I think of Halloween. It is my favorite holiday. My dad wants us to come down to help him with his haunted house again. I have a costume already. But Master's old one finally wore out. As a result, He didn't have a costume last year. So He was all background. But both my dad and I prefer Him to be in costume and part of the fun rather than Him help set things up and then stand off to the side until it's all over.

My dad had mentioned that Master would be awesome as Michael Myers. Mainly because of His height and His has this odd talent of being able to stand stock still to the point that people think He is a mannequin.. that is until He moves and scares the hell out of everyone. *laughs*

I don't think would be too hard to put together. Master already has steel toe boots, so that's taken care of. He would just need the mask and the coveralls. The mask should be really easy to get a hold of but I'm not so sure how the hell to get a hold of the coveralls. At least not in a size that would fit Him properly and doesn't cost a fortune. After all we'd dirty it up, so I don't want to spend a lot of money on it.

I'm also trying to think of how I want my make-up done this year. Last year was very simplistic and while I really liked it, I want something that isn't thrown together at the last possible second.

So aside from the Halloween fun I also feel the need to watch more horror movies. The problem with that is we have seen so many and the ones we love we have seen so many times that it's almost pointless to watch them again. Especially when we could both be quoting each line word for word. I'm sure we'll figure something out as it gets closer to Halloween. Halloween just doesn't feel the same without watching a horror movie marathon of some kind.

Aside from the whole Halloween thing this time of year makes me think of pumpkins, pumpkin seeds, gourds, fresh fat apples, taking walks in falling leaves.. *sigh*

It also makes me want to go out and buy a pumpkin spice candle. And an apple cinnamon candle. We don't normally have candles burning. But I love both of those scents because they do make me think of Fall. I may buy at least one and light it every now and then.

Skipped Spring

Well, summer weather has officially hit. It seems that we are skipping spring almost every year now. There was snow falling from the sky two or three weeks ago and today it was 87° outside today. What the fuck weather?! It really sucks when we seem to skip spring and fall. Fall is by far my favorite season.

If I could live somewhere where it was permanent fall, I would be very happy. Spring is my second favorite. It's like fall, but in reverse.

Since we have clients in the office all this week I have to dress nice. And the only sucky part of having to dress nice for work is the fact that when clients are there, they prefer that employees cover up their ink. They have no problem with your ink showing any other time, but when clients are there they want it covered up if possible. This means that I have to wear at least elbow length shirts. I don't mind, really. I love my ink and I don't regret getting any of them.

But when it's 87° outside and the office hasn't turned on the air conditioning yet it kind of sucks not being able to wear short sleeve shirts.I might as well get use to it though. I know once I find another job my ink will have to be covered every work day.

I really hope I find a new job soon though. I'm tired of all the wear and tear on the car. Not to mention the drive in general. And after that nice expensive car repair from last week, I am even more aware of how much wear and tear happens to the car every day. She's running really good now though. So at least that much.

Come On Spring

I'm not a person who likes a lot of heat. If it gets above the mid 70's I'm not comfortable. However, I would like to be able to sit outside. Master and I sat outside a lot this past summer. We'd sit on our porch with our dog and just shoot the shit. Or we would go sit in a neighbor's yard and visit with them for a while.

Today it's honestly not bad out. I still wear a jacket but I don't feel like I need to be all bundled up. It's about in the mid 40's right now. And what sucks right now is that even if we did want to go sit outside with fall clothing on we really can't.

The snow still hasn't melted off of our porch. The snow on the porches across the courtyard are mostly snow free because they get most of the sun during the morning and afternoon. Ours? We still have snow. Enough snow that sitting on the porch wouldn't be comfortable.

This summer should prove to be interesting though. Two of the neighbors we got along with and hung out with this past summer have moved. And a whole bunch of new ones moved in. Joy.

But even if we don't hang out with other people a lot as it gets warmer, it will still be nice to have the option of sitting outside with our mutt. Also? Master can cook on the grill again!

I honestly just want it to get warm enough where I don't need my winter jacket on when I leave the apartment. That is when it will be warm enough to sit on the porch again.

Hello Old Man Winter

Everyone, including myself, has been talking about how light of a winter we're having so far. After all we've been all the way up into the high 50's and it's December for crying out loud.

Well today Old Man Winter poked his head out of the clouds and waved hello. It wasn't as bad as they were predicting, well at least not in our immediate area. Ya see the winter storm "Draco" came through. Honestly I still find it kind of hard to believe that they are now naming winter storms. They were predicting a hell of a lot of snow and bad driving conditions for rush hour traffic. Guess what time I hit the road? Yep. Rush hour. I knew this when I got up this morning so I was a little anxious about it all day.

About mid day I pretty much stopped worrying about it. It was raining all day long. I do mean all day. But then about 3pm the rain rapidly turned into snow. Big fat fluffy snowflakes. And the snow was not fucking around.

The only problem with my working 45 minutes away from home is that I can't base the weather in one place as to how it's going to be in the other. Mainly because my home is damn near right off the lake. My work is 45 minutes northwest of where I live. As a result the weather can be drastically different.

So when I told Master at 3pm that it was starting to snow He told me it was still only raining at home.

Then it came time for me to drive home. It was really, really slow going and a little nerve wracking at points. I'm not kidding you when I say I was doing 25mph on the interstate where the speed limit is 65mph. I'm a very cautious driver when it comes to bad weather. It sucks in the sense that it takes a lot longer but it's great in the sense that I'm still breathing when I finally put the car into park.

So there I am, going 25mph and just focusing on staying calm. I did manage to do that. It's a good thing I'm medicated though, I don't know if I would have handled it as well without it. Yay for bipolar medication!

Once I got closer to home the weather really lightened up and I was able to go at a more normal speed. I was still cautious though and took my time. No use in fully relaxing and then ending up in a wreck simply because I got comfortable since I was closer to home.

The person I drive back and forth to work in our little carpool actually thanked me when I pulled up to his house. We were about 25 minutes later than usual but he thanked me for getting him home safe and said, "Great driving dude!" (No that wasn't sarcasm on his part.)

He lives about five minutes away from where I live but I had to stop at the gas station, which added a little bit more time before I finally pulled in.

They say that the storm is supposed to completely stop by 3am, which is about three hours before I get up in the morning so that should give the plows and all that time to get the roads clear. Although Master and I just looked out the window and it's pretty much over already. But like I said, I don't know what it's like out by my job. However, the storm is moving east, which means that it should be over out there before it's done here at home.

I'm still going to wake up a little earlier than usual tomorrow just in case.

June 21, 2011

Finally!

All this past weekend they had been calling for storms. It would maybe drizzle for about 10 minutes and then... nothing. *sigh*

Master and I love storms. We love the rain, the roll of thunder, the sudden cracks of lightning. Oddly enough we find it quite relaxing. Well, except for when the power goes out because the city decided it was a good idea to hang electric wires on poles around a lot of trees that are slowly dying and fall when the wind blows too hard.

Idiots.

But as long as the power stays on, we're very happy.

While I was at work today (I work in a different county than the one I live in) it was storming out there for a good hour or so. Master said it wasn't doing anything at home. So the only thing I could do was hope that it moved East. I love storms, but they aren't as much fun when I'm at work.

By the time I got home there was no storm, no rain. Nope. Clear skies. Damn.

But about a half hour ago the storm started! Sudden cloud bursts, lightning, thunder. It's been wonderful! Master and I have been enjoying it while we sit in the living room. In fact right now it is still raining and a little thunder here and there.

Storms, how I had missed you.

You may think I sound like a crazy person who goes storm chasing. Now, while I may be crazy, I do not chase storms. I don't have the equipment for that. Plus, the price of gas would kill me. Driving all over the country trying to track storms while paying damn near $4 a gallon? Fuck that.

No, I just love it when it storms here at home. Hopefully at least the rain will stay around for a bit longer.

Rainy Day

Today, again we were going to all of our errands, but it was raining and we got lazy.

But it was kind of weird. When we woke up it was raining really hard and it thundered a few times. Then it didn't look like it was raining at all, and then it would come back in full force again. So we were like, "Um.. do we do this or not?!"

Well, we ended up only running one errand today. We'll be doing the rest tomorrow. After we were fully awake and convinced ourselves to head out, we went out to the Harley Davidson store where I got His belt at. I needed a new spring jacket. You see, Coyote has a denim jacket, a regular leather jacket, and a full length leather trench.

I only have the one leather jacket, which is rather heavy since it is intended to be my winter jacket. Now some might ask why the hell we go to a Harley Davidson store for jackets and belts when um, ya know.. we don't own a Harley or any motorcycle for that matter.

I love motorcycles. I always have. Coyote wants one eventually. He wants a Harley. (Well actually He wants an Indian, but we'll never be able to afford one. So Harley it is.) We like Harley things, especially the apparel. And seriously, it might as well be a name brand in apparel these days. Call us posers, or wanna bes, or what have you. I don't care. I like the damn clothes. :-p

They are a bit expensive however, so I try not to go to that store all to often cause I find a lot of things I want. From chaps, to tank tops.. you name it basically. However, when I want a jacket I want it to last a while, so I figured Harley was a safe bet.

The last spring jacket I got was from Coyote's mother. She bought it from the Gap (a store I hardly ever shop at because I feel like yuppies are going to attack me once they discover I'm not one of them) and I had it less than a year. The buttons all came off and the zipper no longer works properly. *shakes head* This is another reason I don't shop at the Gap unless I'm basically desperate for something that will fit and it's work clothes.

Coyote helped me pick this jacket out. I was originally looking at some nylon type jackets.. but He pointed out some denim ones. I haven't owned a denim jacket since.. oh Gods.. probably 7th grade? Meanwhile He loves denim jackets. He's always had one. So I found on in my size and tried it on. It fits perfectly. The cut is very nice. I instantly fell in love with this jacket. The sticker shock hit me a little bit, but oh well. It's mine now!

While we were there, and I think what triggered it was the fact that He saw me buying a denim jacket... He stated that "soon" He'll need a new denim jacket. The one He has is oh hell... at least 10 years old. So basically He's had that jacket longer than He has known me. So I looked across the aisle to the men's section and said, "Well they have male denim jackets." So we mosey on over and ta-da.. instantly He finds one He likes and that fits Him. Done deal.

So we check out and basically He had taken my word on it as far as Him looking damn good in His new denim jacket. So once we got home He tried it on and agreed with me.

So lets hope the weather gets nice so we can start wearing them. :-D

The rest of the day has been spent at home relaxing and enjoying our time together. We watched a movie and I watched Him play video games for a little while.

We're doing great. We havn't had any moments of awkwardness really, and in fact Coyote mentioned the fact that we actually seem to be getting along better than we have in quite some time. That made me smile, and I fully agree.

We both have pressure headaches today, but we haven't been mood with each other or snapped at each other. Which is some what odd, because pressure headaches instantly put us in bad moods.

So it seems that our change in roles has helped in many ways. I'm so glad that we had talked about it and decided we don't need to fit into a box, we can do our own thing. We can do what we originally set out to do. And I'm loving it.

Coyote has not decided whether or not to keep His blog. He has said that He would need to change a few things on it. I told Him I, of course, would help Him. I'm hoping He continues to blog. I know I'll miss it if He closes it down. And I think, in a way, He would as well. But we shall see.

It's Fucking Cold

Yay! Two days in a row where the word fuck is in the post title. Whoo-hoo!

It is fucking cold out. I was so happy when the car started this morning. Okay, so I wasn't thrilled that I was going to work or anything, but at least I could get there.

This morning I got up when the alarm went off, got ready for work and then went to the gas station. I got soda and cigarettes so Master wouldn't run out for the day. I didn't want Him walking down to the gas station when it is below zero out. I dropped the stuff back off at home and kissed Master's forehead as He continued to sleep before heading back out into the cold and went to work.

Work was busy but doable. It wasn't as hectic as it was the past couple of weeks, so that's a bonus. Hopefully it'll die down a bit more as we go into February.

I called Master on my lunch break to see what He wanted to do for dinner. He said He wasn't sure yet, so I said I would call Him again on my way home from work. I did just that and He had me stop off at a fast food joint and pick up dinner. Quick. Easy. Done.

So when I got home we ate and I warmed up a bit before being a bit more affectionate. After we were done eating I took my bath and put on a body stocking and now I'm here, doing this post.

I have to go into work again tomorrow to be trained on a new application that is essential to my job. Joy of joys. As I was walking out to the car this evening after my shift I was like, "Yay! Tomorrow's Friday!" Yeah. It is. But unlike most weeks I don't have off. Blah.

Thankfully it is only a 5 1/2 hour shift. I seriously doubt it'll take that full amount of time, but ya never know. I should be home by 3pm at the latest.

Of course most of the customer base that I deal with live no where near here, so they were all telling me about how it's "cold"... at 70 degrees. Fuck. I miss 70 degree days! And it's only January! So then I tell them what it is here and they ask how we survive. *laughs* One customer asked me how we run our city when she asked how much show we got, and I told her it was about 6 inches. I was like, "What do you mean?". She told me that when they got an inch... ONE inch... they shut the whole city down. Not only shut the city down.. but shut it down for THREE days. Three days!

If that were the case here, no one would ever be open from like the middle of December up through March... Funny thought.
